My name is Tim Flynn. I’m your candidate for Ventura County Supervisor.
When I was growing up in Oxnard, I always looked forward to visiting Channel Islands Harbor but today our Harbor is in serious disrepair. The County is the Harbor’s landlord and responsible for the mess.
Oxnard needs a Supervisor who can fix this.
I have been the champion for harbor residents to help develop a new vision for our harbor. Five years ago, I helped form a task force that brought together Oxnard citizens with the county, the city, and the developers. We demanded that the county give us a seat at the table.
Our voice was heard. The Coastal Commission rejected the county’s plan to turn Fisherman’s Wharf into a massive apartment complex with almost no amenities for Oxnard residents.
Now we need a new vision. I have the trust of all those with a stake in the harbor’s future. I pledge to the Channel Islands Harbor Community that my first action after taking office will be to lay out my plan that will address these three priorities:
- First, it must have community buy-in.
- Second, it must support local jobs.
- Third, it must clean up the harbor’s water quality.
That’s how we’ll restore Channel Islands Harbor as the crown jewel of Ventura County. It’s based on listening, trust and taking bold action.
With your support and vote, I’ll fight hard on the Board of Supervisors to develop a New Harbor better than we even remember.
